In their attempts to codify and label the infinite human experience, psychologists and psychiatrists limit their understanding of the whole human condition.  Furthermore, they don’t know why some drugs work for their patients and others don’t.

At best, they say that some fall mentally ill due to “a combination of factors.” At the end of the day, their research can’t explain it.  Until the matter of consciousness is discussed, this will always be the case.

Why should those suffering from mental illness trust these professionals if they can’t fully explain the drug they are prescribing or the condition they seek to treat?

This is not a statement against psychiatrists or psychiatric medications.  It is only a statement meant to show how a patient’s mistrust of a physician is not necessarily unfounded.
